PENETRON ADMIX®
PENETRON ADMIX® is a crystalline waterproofing admixture that is added directly to the concrete during batching. Once mixed in, it becomes an integral part of the concrete matrix, providing long-lasting protection against water penetration. As moisture enters the concrete, the active ingredients in PENETRON ADMIX react chemically to form insoluble crystals that fill micro-cracks, pores, and capillaries. This process effectively blocks the pathways through which water and other aggressive chemicals can pass.
In addition to creating a permanent internal barrier against water, PENETRON ADMIX enables the concrete to self-heal future hairline cracks by activating its crystalline growth process whenever water is present. This ensures a continuously protected structure, even long after construction is complete.
PENECRETE MORTAR™
PENECRETE MORTAR™ is a specially formulated, cementitious repair mortar designed for use in conjunction with the PENETRON® system. It is primarily used to seal and waterproof static cracks, construction joints, form tie holes, and honeycombed areas in concrete structures. When applied to prepared surfaces, PENECRETE MORTAR penetrates deeply and reacts with moisture and unhydrated cement to form insoluble crystalline structures, which effectively block water pathways.
This mortar works synergistically with the active chemicals in PENETRON, ensuring a consistent and long-lasting waterproofing barrier. Its crystalline properties enable the repaired areas to become permanently water-tight while maintaining the same breathability and strength as the surrounding concrete.
PENEBAR SW®
PENEBAR SW® is a high-performance, swellable waterstop engineered to provide a reliable and flexible seal at concrete construction joints. Made from a unique blend of water-absorbing materials, PENEBAR SW expands upon contact with moisture to create a tight compression seal that prevents water from passing through non-moving joints.
Unlike traditional PVC waterstops, PENEBAR SW is installed directly onto existing concrete surfaces before placing the next pour, making it far easier and faster to apply in the field. Once concrete is cast against it, PENEBAR SW remains dormant until exposed to water, at which point it expands volumetrically—up to several times its original size—effectively blocking water pathways along the joint line.
We used Penetron Admix and Penebar SW for the basement and water tank areas of our commercial development in Port Louis. After more than two years, there are still no signs of leakage or dampness. The technical support from the Penetron Mauritius team was outstanding from start to finish. We’ll definitely be using their solutions again in our upcoming projects.
