PENETRON®
PENETRON® is a surface-applied, integral crystalline waterproofing material that waterproofs and protects concrete from within. It is composed of Portland cement, specially treated quartz sand, and a proprietary blend of active chemicals. PENETRON® only requires the addition of water before application.
When applied to a concrete surface, the active chemicals penetrate deep into the concrete and react with moisture and the by-products of cement hydration. This catalytic reaction forms an insoluble crystalline structure that fills pores, capillaries, and minor shrinkage cracks, preventing water penetration even under hydrostatic pressure. At the same time, the concrete remains vapor permeable, allowing the structure to breathe.
Even after the concrete has cured, PENETRON® remains dormant within the concrete matrix and reactivates whenever moisture is present, sealing capillary tracts and hairline cracks that may develop over time.
In addition to providing long-term waterproofing, PENETRON® protects concrete against seawater, wastewater, aggressive groundwater, and a wide range of chemical attacks. Approved for use in contact with potable water, PENETRON® is ideal for water storage tanks, reservoirs, water treatment facilities, and other structures requiring durable, long-lasting concrete protection.
